SICK DFS60 are high-resolution programmable incremental encoders with a housing diameter of 60 mm and a wide range of mechanical connections. Thanks to the programming possibilities, the encoder's electrical output signal and interface can be adapted to any requirements.
This video shows the main programmable parameters of SICK DFS60 encoders and their meaning.
1. Can be used to set encoder parameters:
2. When running the SOPAS program, you will see all the existing encoder parameters and programmable values:
Number of pulses per revolution: Depending on the encoder model, you can enter from 1 to 10,000 or from 1 to 65,536 pulses per revolution.
Zero Pulse Length: The index pulse, or Z signal, operates at one full encoder shaft speed and fixes the preset encoder zero position. The Z pulse can be used to operate an external meter or to determine an accurate position when extremely precise positioning is required.
The zero pulse length can be changed:
Output type: The supply voltage range of the DFS60 series encoders is from 4.5 to 32 volts DC.
Choose:
After saving the entered parameters in the encoder, its functionality can be checked in the SOPAS program, allowing to set and equalize the zero pulse position with the actual encoder shaft position.
Advantages:
The wide range of encoders in the DFS60 series, complete with an encoder programmer, will allow you to quickly adjust and replace any other encoder, reducing potential downtime for production equipment.
