Super fast morning flight – AirBaltic brought me to Helsinki in less than 40 minutes. Very impressive! At that moment, it seemed like autumn was one step closer in Helsinki than here – trees already barer, and grass sparser. The traffic was very similar to Riga – Helsinki’s streets dug up, full of heavy machinery, and, of course, traffic jams, yet the drivers looked calm and patient.

Tosibox Partner Day is an event where all Tosibox European partners and technical specialists are invited annually. It’s a place for introductions, experience exchange, and discussions on classic topics – success stories, challenges, forecasts, and visions.
Success stories from other countries naturally cause understanding envy, but the challenges are similar – many clients choose to manage their VPN channels by setting up and maintaining them on their own.
It was a bit surprising that most partners mentioned sectors like solar power plants and building automation as their best clients. This is quite unusual for us, where primarily equipment manufacturers use Tosibox for remote access when technical support or system debugging is required. Continuous data collection and monitoring have potential – just gather the advantages and think bigger.
The event also included presentations of the latest products – their features, which will soon be available for Tosibox Lock physical devices, Tosibox HUB, and the entire Tosibox platform.
One of the main discussion topics, of course, was cybersecurity, focusing on the impact of the new European Union cybersecurity directive and how Tosibox can help meet its requirements.
NIS2 (Network and Information Security Directive) is a European Union cybersecurity directive that took effect on October 1 this year. In short – NIS2 sets minimum cybersecurity standards that are mandatory to follow and provide in critical infrastructure sectors. Organizations whose IT systems do not meet the European Union’s requirements will, of course, face sanctions. For Tosibox, this is important as Tosibox is an ISO27001-certified supplier, which is one of the NIS2 requirements.

The rest of the day, spent in a highly positive atmosphere, flew by at lightning speed, leaving thoughts about opportunities, the desire to look wider, and the reality of the industry.
