About Wera — ergonomics, design, innovations
The company was founded in 1936 in Wuppertal as a trading company (Hermann Werner), but after World War II expanded with screwdriver production. The name "Wera" was created in 1951 — from the words Werner and Amtenbrink. Since 1968, Wera has been developing the famous Kraftform ergonomic handle together with the Fraunhofer Institute.
Wera manufactures more than 3,000 different tools — screwdrivers, VDE insulated screwdrivers, bits, keys, torque-fixed keys, and tool sets. Products are mainly manufactured in Germany and the Czech Republic.
Wera manufactures more than 3,000 different tools
Wera is known for its unique products:
- ergonomic Kraftform handle design
- Zyklop ratchet keys
- Joker wrenches with holding function
- Impaktor and BiTorsion bit systems and Rapidaptor bit holders
Wera has been awarded multiple times with iF and Red Dot design awards, German Design Award.
What does this mean for electricians and automation specialists?
At the center of the offer are tools actively used by electricians, automation specialists, and industrial service workers — VDE insulated pliers, insulated screwdrivers, specially equipped sets optimal for working with electrical installations, but the assortment is not limited - our offer will also include other tools from both brands' complete product lines — from precision micro tools to industrial impact-resistant solutions. "Scientific Technical Company Lāsma" will provide all Knipex and Wera products directly from the manufacturers.
Why choose Wera tools
Ergonomics and comfort of use
- Wera handles are developed according to the "Kraftform" design principle — it is a patented handle profile adapted to human palm anatomy
- Ergonomics significantly reduces load on the palm and forearm, especially when working for long periods
- Example: Wera Kraftform Plus screwdrivers — hexagonal shape with soft zones provides high torque and comfort, especially when working with hard screws
Faster and safer work
- Wera products are often designed to reduce task completion time and increase precision
- Examples:
- Wera Joker wrenches with patented "holding function" — a special metal plate holds the screw in place so it doesn't fall out when working in hard-to-reach places
- Patented "Stop Plate" function limits key movement and prevents it from slipping off the screw
Safety in electrical work
- Wera offers a wide range of VDE certified tools tested up to 10,000V and certified up to 1,000V
- Screwdrivers, pliers, and other devices are tested individually, which is especially important for electricians and automation specialists
- Example: Wera Kraftform Kompakt VDE sets provide maximum safety in voltage work
Innovative solutions and patented technologies
Wera is known for many unique patents that improve productivity and work quality.
